Putre se ubica en la pre-Cordillera del norte de Chile, a un pie de la meseta de gran altura conocida como Altiplano. Es una localidad de muy larga data, que ha crecido a los pies del imponente volcán Taapaca. Sus fértiles suelos volcánicos han ayudado a la agricultura en terrazas característica de esta bella localidad. En las cercanías de Putre se puede recorrer hermosos parajes y disfrutar de la observación de flora y fauna típica del altiplano, así como compartir con las cálidas comunidades del pueblo Aymara y conocer sus centenarios poblados y clásicas capillas e iglesias.
Putre is located in the northern Chile pre-Cordillera, at the foot of the high Andean plateau known as the Altiplano. It is an old settlement which has grown close to the stunning Taapaca volcano. Its fertile volcanic soils have helped to develop the characteristic terrace agriculture of this beautiful area. Close to Putre, the visitors can travel around astonishing landscapes and enjoy the observation of the altiplano flora and fauna, as well as share with the warm communities of the Aymara people, visiting their centennial towns, chapels and churches.
